Today was a busy day and a little stressful. I am pretty sure my baby has hit a fussy fussy fussy stage! I never understood what my mom meant when she would say "she is going through a stage" but I now know what a stage is! I don't like it! I almost wondered why I quit my job to become a SAHM!! But I love that baby boy!
So I was feeling a little cranky and crazy until I found a 90% off clearance sale! I walked into Hallmark and got a $40 book for $4, that is awesome! I later sent my hubby to scope out the sale and he was able to get paper cups and napkins for $ .20. I know I should go green and not use disposable product but we do NOT have a dishwasher, so desperate times call for desperate measures.
Bottom line- start shopping for next year now! The pickings our slim but if you can find items that you need you will get a steal on them!

Flu Strikes Again!!
So it has been a rough start to the year! I thought our family was on the up swing after being sick at the beginning of the school year! But the flu it again, and it was worse than the first time. We are in our recovery phase of our most recent bout with the flu but it has been a ruff road.
Not a person in the family was able to keep anything down for a 24 hour period. My husband and I are feeling much better, but the baby has not bounced back as quickly which has brought near exhaustion to our happy family. I am hoping our little guy is feeling better tomorrow.
Has the flu hit any of your families? All I can say it WASH YOUR HANDS!!!

72 Jars of Baby Food!
I started couponing early last year and I am in love. I had a great run today. I went into Giant Foods they were having a sale on BeechNut 2nd -Buy 5 get 1 Free! I bought 24 used jars and used 5 $1.10 off 4 jars coupons. I paid $3.90 and got a Catalina for $4 off my next order. I then bought another 24 jars and used 1 $2 off 16 jars and 1 $1 off 8 jars and my coupon from the first transaction and paid $2.40. Then I did the second transaction again! What a great day, I paid $8.70 for 72 jars of food and I have $4 from my next order at Giant.
Are there any other couponers out there? What deals have you scored?
I think my family and friend are tired of hearing about my coupon adventures but I never get tired of the excitement!

We Made It!!
I know I have been gone for quite a while, there goes my plan to blog on a daily basis. I guess the lesson that I have learned is blogging daily may be a bit too much for me! So I am planning on blogging 3 times a week, I think it will be a little more reasonable.
So what took me away for my blogging plan, my sweet baby boy. He got his first ear infection last week, then the rest of the house came down with the dreaded cold to follow. So when he was on the mend, my hubby and I were down for the count. Let's just say it was not fun!
Now that we are back in business I am gonna work on blogging more frequently. I am just relaxing after taking the Christmas Tree out of the house. How is the most special time of last year become the most dreaded time of this year, I can tell you PINE NEEDLES! We will be finding needles everywhere for the next 6 months. The good news is that the tree is out and I can reflect on the wonderful holiday we had with family and friends. I was so thankful to have such a wonderful holiday season. My family is truly blessed and I look forward to the years to come with our family.
Till next time- DD.

Resignation Day!
I am officially no longer a teacher! After 7 years of teaching middle school Physical Education, I have officially resigned to stay home with my 9 month old son. After having my son in April I did not return to my teaching position, I took extended leave and then decided to resign. This was not an easy decision considering this was my first full-time job and I basically grew up in this position. Yet, when I thought about leaving my baby to go and teach 6th, 7th, and 8th graders how to play basketball the decision seemed easy. If you have never tried to teach basketball you would not understand this statement. Even after a day like I had today with the baby I feel I made a good decision. The day started out with a Mommy and baby that did not feel good and by noon it was time to call the Doctor- so now we are going to go outside on the coldest day of the year so far! So after talking nurse and making an appointment I have 2 hours to get everyone ready and out of the house, 1 poop explosion and nap later we are on our way! Only to come home and have another poop explosion before Daddy got home!
Before I sign off today! I wanted to take a few moments to remember my first year of teaching. The first word that come to mind is DIFFICULT. Lets just say I was in no way, shape, or form prepared to teach middle school Physical Education. If you are wondering I did graduate from an accredited Physical Education program, the bottom line is nothing prepares you for a gym full of 60 kids and very little equipment. There are a few highlights: by the end of the school year I only cried once a week, I had the opportunity to educate over 300 students, I worked in an awesome building, and little did I know I had the best partner ever (in middle school Physical Education you have to share a gym with another teacher aka my partner). There were some major difficulties this year in Sept I lost my Grandmother to Cancer, I was engaged to my college rebound boyfriend ( this engagement will end before a wedding is planned), my apartment barely survived a flood (I did not know I was living in a flood plain), and I discovered why most teachers quit teaching the PARENTS!

Holiday Hangover
Well, I really thought I would start the 2012 with a bang but I have been nursing a cold all day long. There is nothing I dislike more than being sick. I love to be active and get stuff done, so when I don't feel well and lay around all day I am miserable! So lets just hope I can get my New Year off to a start tomorrow!

Happy New Year!
So, in two days I will officially have resigned from my full time teaching job to stay at home with my 9 month old baby. I have been told I am crazy by some and a hero to others, I am still trying to decide what I think I am. Please don't kid yourselves I am keeping my 2 part time jobs- so I will be do some work outside the house. Yes, that is correct before I resigned from my full time job I was working 3 jobs. Lets just say I really like to keep busy. I worked all three job until April of 2011, when I had my darling baby boy. I returned back to my waitress job in June of 2011 and then in August of 2011 I returned to my Assistant Athletic Training position. In Sept 2011, I decided to take extended leave from my Middle School Physical Education position. I officially put in my resignation on Nov 3, 2011 giving my my last day as January 3, 2012. So I have decided to blog about my adventures for the next year!
